General Questions
Q: What’s so great about the Flattering me® wedding bustier?
A: This product was specifically designed to combat all of the major problems that brides were having with the average long line wedding bustier. This backless bra is the only backless bra on the market today which can provide the cleavage and support that every bride desires on her wedding day without sacrificing comfort. And best of all, the Flattering me® bra accomplishes all of these things without straps!
Q: Is it really “The World’s Best Strapless Bra”?
A: Yes, no other longline strapless bra with a “low back” in the world will give women this kind of support.
Q: Who gave it this name?
A: Coco Abadi, the creator of the Flattering me® Wedding Bustier, believed that his innovative new product could make a woman look more “flattering” with her gown wearing his bra, then wearing any other brand of long line bra under her dress.
Q: How does the bra provide support? How is this different from other similar products?
A: According to Coco, “It is all physics, and how I apply it is my secret and “patent.” The other long line strapless bras are just garments designs, they just cover your body and that is it. The Flattering me® bra will lift the woman’s breast and give her a complete support.”
Q: When was this product first created? Who was the first person to try the bra on?
A: Coco created the Flattering me® bra back in 1996 and patented the next year. The idea of applying physics to his bra came up after three months and few prototypes after he first began to create his bra.
The first person who tried the first finished product sample of the Flattering me® bra was one of the sales girls from Coco’s bridal shop. And yes, he created the Flattering me® bra in his own bridal shop.
Q: Where was the Flattering me® bra first sold?
A: The Flattering me® bra was first sold in Coc’s bridal shop. After months of testing and feedback from customers, he finally felt the product was perfected and began to sell to other bridal stores.
Q: Has the Flattering me® bra been recognized in any magazine (not advertising)?
A: This product has been featured in many magazines, including Bride, Modern Bride, Body Magazine and other small magazines, as well as in editorials in Body Magazine. The Flattering me® bra has mostly been recognized in bridal magazines because it was originally made for wear under the wedding gown. However, once the product became more widely known, Coco began to get requests for different colors as people began to realize that there was no other bra on the market like it. They were interested in wearing the undergarments under other types of clothing as well.
Q: What kind of tape measure should I use to measure myself for this product?
A: The customer can use the same kind of “tape measure” that seamstresses use, made with “plastic” or “fabric”. Definitely you cannot use the metallic ones that carpenters use. Or, you can use the one Coco invented, the “Flattering me® Tape Measure”.
To use a regular tape measure, you will need to get the following information:
- Measure exactly under the breast all around your torso and pull tight. Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor, straight across.
- Measure around the fullest part of your bust line, not tight, parallel
to the floor, straight across.
- Measure your waist line at the smallest part
Q: When did Coco create the Flattering me® Tape Measure? Also, what is special about this specific tape measure?
A: Coco invented this innovative product three years after he introduced the Flattering me® bra in the market. He created this tape measure upon request for store owners who had asked him to help them find a faster way to find the correct bra size for their customers.
This “tape measure” was created, not only to find out the size the customer needs to get of the “Flattering me®” bra, but also to help women to find out the regular bra size they need to wear every day. Regular “tape measures” don’t tell you right away what bra size you need to wear. This tape measure will.

Fitting Questions
Q: What is the best way to measure in order to find the correct fit?
A: There are three main steps you should follow when measuring yourself to find the correct fit:
- Measure exactly under the breast all around your torso and pull tight. Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor, straight across. This measurement will tell you the “band” size you need to wear (32, 34, 36, 38, etc.)
- Measure around the fullest part of your bust line, not tight, parallel
to the floor, straight across. This measurement will tell you the cup
size you need to wear (A, B, C, etc.) Now you know your regular (or
every day) bra size.
- Measure your waist line (smallest part).
Q: If I am not sure what size to get, how do I calculate the correct bra size?
A: After calculating the correct regular (or every day) bra size, check your waistline on the “Flattering me® Waist Measurement Chart” and see if your waist line matches the “correct” bra size you need to wear every day. If they match, then that will be your size. If they don’t then you will need to contact the sales agent from the place where you are ordering the bra.
Q: Is it possible to get the correct fit by measuring myself, or will I need to get someone else to do the measuring for me?
A: Yes, you can measure yourself, but it is recommended that you measure yourself in front of a mirror to ensure that you are keeping the measuring tape parallel to the floor. However, for the most accurate results, it is best to get someone else to do the measuring for you.
Q: Is it best to measure with or without a bra on?
A: You should measure yourself while wearing an unpadded bra.
Q: How will I know if I need an extender for my Flattering me® bra?
A: You will need an extender most of the time, if your waist measurement is bigger than the one on the waist measurement chart for your size bra.
Q: If I always wears a certain bra size and the Flattering me® bra calculations suggest a different size, which size should I go with?
A: There are two calculations; the “band” size and the “cup” size. The band size calculation is 100% accurate, but the cup size is not. Cup size measurements may vary depending on how wide or narrow the customer’s back is. When measuring the “fullest part of the bust line” to find out the cup size, the measurement you get will include your back. Depending on how wide or narrow the back is (and this has nothing to do with the breast size,) it could affect the resulting measurement information.
For example a woman who works out a lot with free weights may have a very wide back. Thus, when you measure the fullest part of her bust line (because the tape measure is going around the back,) the resulting measurement will tell you that she will need a “D” or “DD” when she really just needs a “B” or a “C”.
So, for the cup information, the best thing to do is to choose a bra you already have that fits well in the cups, and go by that cup size.
Now, because the band size calculation is 100% accurate, you need to go by that size. If the band size result is the same as the one you normally wear, then the bra size will be the same as what you normally wear. But if the band size result is different, then you will need to change your bra size to the calculated band and choose the corresponded cup size in the same color on the Flattering me® Cup Size Chart.
Q: If I have calculated my correct bra size, but my waist measurement does not follow the size chart, what should I do then?
A: You most likely will need to order an extender, but better to consult the sales agent.
Q: How are the extended sized (plus-sizes) different then the regular sizes?
A: Extended sizes of the Flattering me® bra are constructed with extra boning, and that boning is thicker and wider than that in standard sizes. Sizes 42+ and DD+ are considered plus sizes and are constructed with this extra boning.
Q: If I feel like I need more control, should I go down a size?
A: No. The correct size will give you all the control you need. A smaller size will not fit you correctly. It is important to wear the correct size in order to get the full benefit of this product.
Q: What is the most common mistake women make when trying to find their correct bra size?
A: Wearing a smaller size, because they feel they need more support. Wearing a too-small wedding bustier is unhealthy for your breast and skin tissue.
Q: What are the most common mistakes full-figured women make in sizing a bra?
A: Wearing the smaller size.
Standard Torso vs. Petite Torso
Q: How will I know if I need the Standard or Petite length torso?
A:
There is no way to measure for this. The best person to determine
whether you have a Petite torso is you. Answer the following questions
to determine if you might require a petite size:
Do you sometimes buy Petite blouses and they fit you better than
standard sizes?
When you try fitted dresses or blouses (not stretch materials or
spandex), does the fabric on the front (below your bust line) get loose
and baggy? That's because it is too long for your torso.
Watch yourself in front of a mirror and see if your hips are high.
Also, does it seem like you are all leg with a short torso? If so, then
you will probably need the petite size.
Q: What is the difference in bras between those two torso lengths?
A: One inch.
Q: Why did Coco create the Flattering me® bra for petite women?
A:
Because “petite” women also want to be able to wear a long line bra is
comfortable even when they sit down. Before the Flattering me® wedding
bustier was created in petite sizes, petite women were never able to
get this in a longline bra, because the boning of a “standard” long
line strapless bra is too long for them. When a petite woman tries to
sit down wearing a regular size longline bra, the boning digs in under
their breasts and thighs, causing a great deal of discomfort.
Q: I have never been able to wear a longline bra, as they always
bunch up when I sit and are uncomfortable. How is the Flattering me®
bra different?
A: The bunching up may be caused by the length of your torso. If you are a petite torso, you may have the boning of the bra push away from the body, because the boning has no where to go. With a petite Flattering me® bra the torso is one inch less than the standard and will help prevent the bulge. The boning and material in the Flattering me® bra is very comfortable.

About Flattering me® Bra designer Coco Abadi
Q: When did you have a bridal boutique… is it still open, where was it, what was the name? How long did you own it?
A: I built my Bridal shop in September of 1989 and sold it 8 years ago. The store is still there and is still named “Victoria’s Bridal Couture.” It is located at Las Olas Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Q: What is your background? How did you get to where you are today? When did you first get into fashion?
A: I was born in Panama and came to live in USA on July of 1984. My family was already leaving here and when I arrived my Mom recommended me to open a Bridal shop, because in between my parents and my other brothers, they already had 3 Bridal shops and they were doing well with them. I opened it with my two younger brothers (The name was Happy Bride), but I didn’t like it and I went on the road to sell wedding gowns as a “sales rep” for Venus Bridal in all the South East of the USA. Few years after I met my wife “Vicky” and opened “Victoria’s Bridal Couture”.
