Simple Wedding Reception Menus

Posted on August 31st, 2010 by Mandy Webster

I’m new to blogging, and I’ve been stretching for a little inspiration to get started. So, I asked my Facebook friends, “If you were planning a wedding, what would you want to read about in a blog?” I got a few different responses, but for the most part, it all came back to food. A lot of already married friends responded to tell me what they’d served at their own weddings or about dishes they remembered from other long ago weddings. And a few single friends mentioned ideas they would like to use at their own weddings someday.

Ivory and Green Reception Tables

You’ve thought long and hard about how to decorate your reception tables: now, what will you put on those plates?

But surprisingly, the menus I heard about most were not your average wedding fare… there were no mentions of fancy dishes or $100 plates. • How long will it take to prepare the food?
  • How much of the meal can be prepared in advance?
  • How will the food taste if it is prepared in advance and reheated?
  • Do you have enough people to help set up the food so you do not get stuck spending your wedding day in the kitchen?
  • Is there enough time between ceremony and reception to set up the meal? Read more »
