Celebrity Wedding Updates: Brangelina, Hugh Hefner and more

Hugh Hefner and girlfriends

Could it be true? Is the Hef really trimming down his harem to marry just one? Image courtesy of Style.com

Surprise, surprise! It seems Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did NOT get married on Valentine’s Day after all. Did I call that one? And, not only did they not get married, but it seems there is trouble on the home front as rumors of Brad meeting up with ex, Jennifer Aniston fly about Hollywood. While I doubt Brangelina will ever make it official, I’ve tracked down a few other celebrity couples who are more likely to take the plunge:

  • The date is set for these young lovers… or… well, you know what I mean! I looks like Hugh Hefner is finally ready to tie the knot with Crystal Harris. They’ve chosen June 18, 2011 for their big day.
  • Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian have plans to marry on a private Montana ranch. The couple, who engaged in December, have not yet set the date.
  • It seems 30 year old Paris Hilton may soon be engaged to Cy Waits. The two were recently spotted shopping for engagement rings at New York’s Jacob & Co. This high end retailer also recently clothed Alicia Keys for her wedding day.

  • Did Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have a secret rendezvous behind Angelina’s back?
  • We may not know who will be designing Kate Middleton’s wedding gown for her upcoming royal wedding, but we now know that her wedding hat will be designed by hat maker Philip Treacy. Hats may be all the rage in the UK, but I think I’ll stick with bridal veils, thank you very much! Personally, I think Kate would look adorable in a birdcage veil from Knot The Groom!

Will and Kate wedding update: The bachelor party

Think  you’ve got it rough when planning your wedding festivities? Well, just be glad you’re not marrying the future king of England! Not only do you have to keep your future mother-in-law happy, but you also have to consider the feelings of ‘the people’ in all of your royal wedding plans, including the bachelor party!

This morning, Good Morning America reviewed the latest details of Prince William’s bachelor party. It seems Wills laid down strict ground rules for the planning of his bachelor party.

While one might think the future King of England could do whatever he likes for his bachelor party, it is apparently not so. The ever-responsible Prince William, worried that his constituents might take offense at him enjoying an overly lavish bachelor party in the midst of a global economic crisis, apparently set a limit on brother Harry’s party plans.

Rather than enjoying an expensive weekend at a French skiing chalet, rumor has it the dynamic duo and approximately 20 of their closest friends will spend a day enjoying a variety of water sports on the English Channel before boating their way up the Thames on a long, rabble-rousing pub crawl. Countdown to Spring: Wedding Cakes

Posted on February 21st, 2011 by Mandy Webster

Spring Wedding Cake from Cakes4occasions.Last week had me hopeful for spring, with the big thaw we had. Temps reached the 50s here in Wisconsin, and our snow was almost completely melted. But yesterday, the winter weather returned, as we knew it would. The ground is covered with snow, and it’s cold again. But that hasn’t stopped me from thinking about Spring! In today’s Countdown to Spring, I am showcasing some beautiful wedding cakes from Cakes for Occasions, located in Danvers, MA.

I love the spring cake pictured at left with its colorful flowers and budding trees. The tiny budding tree leaves put me in mind of the rebirth that is often associated with starting a new life with a new spouse. This would be a great addition to any spring wedding, but I could especially see this confection featured at a ‘green’ wedding or an Earth Day wedding.

Spring 1406 - From Cakes4occasions.comThis cake is covered with fondant and embellished with fondant cutouts. Fondant is used to easily cover wedding cakes with a nice, smooth finish. And, the cutouts make embellishing the cake fairly simple.

The climbing morning glories on the Cakes for Occasions cake pictured at right are another beautiful idea for your spring wedding cake.

I also love the birds nest theme on this final Cakes for Occasions creation pictured below. This colorful pair peers from the birds nest atop this white cake with raffia trim. Read more »

The peacock wedding theme might be my all-time favorite!

Posted on February 18th, 2011 by Mandy Webster

Peacock wedding inspiration from Weddings Unveiled MagazineThe Peacock wedding theme: It’s one of my all-time favorites. The colors, such a striking mix, could only be inspired by nature. And, there are so many ways you can adapt this theme to suit your own individual tastes. Want elegant simplicity? Start with a simple, black sheath bridesmaid dress accented with the occasional peacock feather. Or, go all out with formal gowns in blues, greens or teals. Read more »
