Winter Wonderland Wedding Inspiration

Posted on October 31st, 2011 by annalemberger

Standing inside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art this weekend, I watched as snow drifted through the trees of Central Park and frosted the museum’s enormous glass ceiling. Although it is only October and I am not ready for snow, I could not help but be inspired as New York transformed into lovely winter wonderland. With winter now officially around the corner and winter brides-to-be in the throws of planning for the big day, it seems an appropriate time for a little winter wedding inspiration. Instead of furs, opt for white ostrich feathers for soft and snowflake like details. Crystal and diamonds create the perfect icy sheen as you skate to the alter, join hands with the love of your life, and promise that you will be together for many more winters to come. Invitaciones de Quinceañera | Quinceañera Invitations

Posted on October 28th, 2011 by Mandy Webster

Los Invitaciones de Quinceañera, or the Quinceañera Invitations, are one of the most important elements to consider when planning your Quinceañera. When creating your Quinceañera Invitations, it is essential to include the basic Who, What, When, and Where of your festivities along with a few personal elements to showcase the young lady of the day.

Halloween Wedding Inspiration

Posted on October 27th, 2011 by annalemberger

Go gothic chic for a totally spook-tacular Halloween wedding! Incorporate classic gothic elements into your ceremony, playing with the contrast of a deep obsidian and stark white color palate. Carry the eerie gothic style into the reception or lighten it up with a costume party. Challenge your guests to see who can come up with the most creative costume and reward the winner with a special treat. Kids and kids at heart will love the sticky sweet candy bar full of candy corn and carmel apples. Candles are your aesthetic centerpieces. Use them to create spooky shadows and light your way through your beautifully haunting wedding night.

Wedding Traditions: Bridal Fashion

Posted on October 23rd, 2011 by annalemberger

Word association time. What image appears in your mind when you read these words? Pearls, veil, white. I imagine “bride” or “wedding” came quickly to mind. For those of us infused in Western culture, weddings and brides are closely associated with these traditional images. Even as a small child, I was following these traditions, receiving a pearl for every birthday to be added to my future wedding necklace.  Yet, from where do these traditions arise? Curious, I did some research and discovered some interesting rituals behind three major elements of the bridal ensemble: the veil, the white dress and the pearls.

Falling in Love: Autumn Wedding Inspiration

Posted on October 21st, 2011 by annalemberger

Close your eyes. Inhale the crisp fall air. Drink in the last remaining warmth of the sun’s rays. Imagine yourself surrounded by loved ones, a multitude of brightly colored leaves creating a dramatic backdrop for your perfect autumn wedding. As the season’s change, so too does your life as you vow to love, honor and cherish your significant other all the rest of your days. My our fall inspiration board “leaf” you falling in love with a fall wedding.

The Details: Colors surround you this fall. Look to nature for a color palate of blazing reds, burnt oranges, rustic yellows, forest greens, birch whites and maple browns. Let candles illuminate your space with a deep, romantic glow. Have your guests leave their thumbprint on a canvass tree as a memory of your special day. See an example below from a real wedding.

The Drink: For your signature wedding reception drink, try the Corzo Ruby Red. Cranberries and cinnamon bring a tart and sweet element to this bright red drink.

The Music: Wedding Music Unveiled suggests brides opt for more subdued music for their ceremony in Fall. Visit their site for a list of autumn inspired song suggestions.  From My Wedding Music you can download and listen to a compilation of beautiful fall music from the CD The Harvest.

My favorite find is a list of best and worst wedding songs for fall from Gig Masters. Best song, Autumn Leaves (Frank Sinatra); Worst choice Hazy Shade of Winter (Simon & Garfunkel). And now you know.
