Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid

Posted on January 13th, 2014 by annalemberger

The color experts at Pantone have named Radiant Orchid the 2014 color of the year. These color lovers chose Radiant Orchid for the way it “emanates great joy, love and health.”  Those are certainly wonderful traits to infuse into your own wedding!  Orchids are wonderful inspiration for any time of year but especially for a warm, summer ceremony. And nothing says summer like soft sand between your toes. Orchids make the perfect beach wedding flower, from bright boutonnieres to blooming, fragrant cakes.  If you can’t have a destination wedding in Hawaii, just close your eyes and inhale that radiant orchid smell and you’ll be transported to an island in no time.

English Garden Wedding Inspiration

Posted on September 7th, 2013 by annalemberger

Catch the last, warm rays of summer with an elegant English garden party inspired wedding. Plus, an English garden wedding might just help quell that anxious waiting for the new season of Downton Abbey. Imagine: happy faces of fragrant blossoms line the aisles. Plush, green grass blankets the grounds. More lovely, blushing flowers – rivaled only by the bride – burst out of every corner and detail from the bouquets to the cake.  Rose petals rain down on the new couple as they take their first steps as husband and wife. Delicate floral patterned gowns adorn the guests. Magical. And of course the hats. Don’t forget the over-the-top sun hats and parasols.

The British are especially particular about their gardens; so, to do the English gardening tradition justice, make sure to do your research on the best blooms for late summer and early fall. Try a fragrant perennial like lavender; it’s a great choice that you can use not only in your decor but also in your menu, as a garnish or flavor. Think, lavender cupcakes! For roses that bloom later in the year, go for – what else – an English rose variety.

Summer fun with our new color dipped canvas totes

Posted on May 15th, 2013 by annalemberger

So many good things come dipped: chocolate dipped strawberries; apples covered in gooey caramel; carrots in ranch dressing; and those insanely sugary Fun Dip candies I devoured as a kid. I mean, it’s sugar you dip in sugar – in other words, amazing. My proclivity towards dipped goodness extends beyond food to my other love: fashion. So I was thrilled when these Color Dipped Canvas Totes landed in our store.

Color Dipped Canvas Tote Bag

The matte latex color dipped bottom is so easy to clean and perfect for women, like me, who put their bags through a lot during the day. The colors are so vibrant and a great way to jump into summer. Sandy beaches here I come!

Where will you be taking your new tote this summer? Tell us in the comments or send me a note, and your bag’s journey could be featured in our next blog post! You can also snap a photo or Instagram image and tweet it – just make sure to tag @KnotTheGroom. Also, this week only, you can snag a deal on this new toteUse Promotional Code FB051313 and get 30% off! These personalized totes would also make great bridesmaids gifts, especially for those brides planning beach weddings.

Don’t let your tote travel alone this summer. The Color Dipped Canvas Clutches are perfect for storing all those little things that get lost on the bottom of your bag – or, as I like to call it, the bag black hole. These cute clutches will keep everything from change to keys to lip balm tidy and within easy reach. Plus, you can take it out and let it fly solo when you’re going out at night or just need to travel light.

Real Wedding Inspiration: Lauren & Brian

Posted on December 20th, 2012 by annalemberger

‘Tis the season for giving – which makes this a perfect time to share an amazing story of two newlyweds and their inspiring Give Back Wedding!

Lauren and Brian were married this past July at the Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge in Breckenridge, Colorado. This couple’s special day was full of love and laughter, captured beautifully by Lisa Meeter of Lisa Anne Photography. It’s hard not to be joyful when you know your wedding is making such a difference!  Lauren and Brian knew having a big wedding was important to their loved ones; however, they wanted to make sure that they stayed true to their values as environmentally conscious teachers committed to working with at risk students. And so the “Give Back Wedding” was born. Every detail – from the biodegradable cupcake wrappers to the Colorado wildflower bouquets – gave back, in one way or another, to something this couple cares about:

“Brian and I felt so blessed to have found this love that we wanted to share our love and happiness with the rest of the world. We wanted our love to make a difference in the hearts of others in the same way that it had in our very own.”

Blooming Romance Wedding Inspiration

Posted on June 25th, 2012 by annalemberger

Romance is in the air this week with our flower inspired wedding board!  Vintage touches, natural decor, and pops of bright, floral color will brighten your flower-powered wedding ceremony and reception. Fragrant, frosted, fabricated – showcase a variety of floral elements and textures beyond the fresh cut. I love the idea of felt boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen. They look awesome and will last forever in your wedding scrapbook! Having trouble choosing a color duo? Who says you need just two! Work in a spectrum of warm shades from sunny yellow to rosy pink to vibrant red. A shock of teal makes a fun statement against the the warmer tones. If there is not enough brightness in your wedding already, unite your lives with a beautiful candle ceremony.
