There is no better time for putting on the Ritz than at your swinging 1920s-themed wedding! The 20s were ablaze with glitz, glamour, roaring jazz bands and just plain old fun. You’ll be the cat’s meow in a flapper style wedding gown with feathered fascinators or a birdcage veil. The groom and groomsmen will be the bee’s knees in a short tuxedo and snappy spats. Breakout the bootlegged libations at your speakeasy reception party. There is nothing like giggle water and a swing band to keep the party going all night long!

Get out those lassos and roundup your man because it is high time for a perfectly rugged country western wedding. Horseshoe details display the luck you have had in love. The groom will look handsome in a stetson and string tie while the bride and bridesmaids stomp down the aisle in cowboy boots. Nothing says country western like a roaring barn dance. Book a live Rockabilly or Bluegrass band to make sure the line dancing lasts long into the night.
After parties are hugely popular right now. Jump on this wedding trend and do not let the party stop once the music does. Invite your guests to rest their feet around a campfire and make sticky sweet s’mores. Spread out blankets and screen an outdoor film like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Book your mini chapel and your Elvis minister for a very Vegas wedding! Adventurous couples who want something, well, a little different for their wedding should look no further than Las Vegas, or “The Marriage Capital of the World.” Add touches of rock ‘n roll to your ceremony with fun elements like neon shoes and mini guitar boutonnieres. Invite your guests to your wedding and reception on playing cards or poker chips. In honor of our series The Mix, I recommend Vegas classics for your playlist; think the Rat Pack. And finally, just remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. So feel free to indulge in several specialty wedding cocktails–this is Sin City after all.

Ladies (and select gentlemen)! Get your TiVo’s ready for an inside look at one of the biggest celebrity weddings of the year. E! will air the Kim’s Fairytale Wedding as a two part special this Sunday, October 9 and Monday, October 10. Although the marriage of Kim Kardashian to pro basketball player Kris Humphries is old news for those of you who are part of the surprisingly large Kardashian cult following, E! promises “a whole lot of drama” in this special airing. Insider bridal drama should keep even the most ardent followers entertained. On the other hand, if Kim’s biggest drama is deciding on whether to keep her Kardashian name or take her husband’s, I might find more excitement on an episode of Antique Roadshow.

The big kiss. Kim and Kris married this past August in Montecito, CA.
