Tree of Love: Vintage Turquoise & Birch Wedding Inspiration

Wife and mother of the film The Tree of Life says, “The only way to be happy is to love. Unless you love, your life will flash by.” Let these words of love be your guide as you and your future spouse anticipate your upcoming wedding and love-filled life.

For your wedding: The film’s 1950s setting provides a plethora of inspiration for a vintage wedding theme. The film’s 50s fashion is beautifully simple and down to earth. I love the grey and birch tones in this suit worn by Brad Pitt’s character. Jessica Chastain’s character wore several gorgeous pieces; my favorite is this turquoise dress with the classic full skirt and white cuffs. My grandmother had a refrigerator that color, so I know first hand turquoise is truly 1950s.  The tree is a wonderfully symbolic and natural element for your wedding. Tree canvas guest books have become very popular with modern couples. Have your guests add their name to your family tree, and hang it in your house as a reminder of the people who celebrated the beginning of your new life as a couple.

Another Peacock Themed Wedding

What is it about the peacock themed wedding that we love so much? Is it simply that the peacock wedding colors – navy, teal, green, and gold, are so striking together? Or is it the feathers and the flounce, the romance that is invoked by the peacock himself? Whatever it is, we can’t get enough. And neither can our readers!

Signature Cocktail: Margarita with Blue Curaçao

This striking blue-green cocktail will add a punch of color and fun to your reception alcohol drink selections. While bartenders refer to this cocktail as a blue margarita, the name is up to you!  Imagine sipping a Blue Paradise while doing the conga line at your luau-themed wedding. 1. Shaker with ice.
