Spring into Color!

Posted on February 19th, 2013 by annalemberger

The color experts at Pantone have once again put out a decadent palate of color inspiration. The Spring 2013 Color Report brings a wonderful mix of soft hues and surprising bursts of brightness.  Poppy Red is one of my all-time favorite colors, and Greyed Jade is already making an appearance in spring fashion. Overall, the collection feels like a refreshing outdoor walk on a sunny spring day. With a nod to nature, I brought floral and feather elements into this week’s inspiration board.

Cornucopia of Color: Pantone’s Fall 2012 Color Report

Posted on September 18th, 2012 by annalemberger

There is a magical moment, every year, when I wake up to nature’s color symphony; when leaves make their last stand in a shock of vibrant hues that shout “look at me!” before falling to the earth. Fall is so full of color inspiration it may be hard to know where to turn when choosing the perfect fall wedding colors. Fortunately, the color experts at Pantone have released their Fashion Color Report for Fall 2012 – a great guide for what is trending this season. While some of the usual autumn suspects are included, like Honey Gold, French Roast, Titanium, Tangerine Tango, and Ultramarine Green, there are some unique standouts. Olympian Blue is a bright choice that would pair well with Honey Gold or French Roast. Rhapsody and Pink Flambe are also quite lovely and add a feminine touch to any color scheme. But it is Rose Smoke that tops my favorite color list this fall. It’s like a soothing whisper – barely there, but oh so lovely.

White Lace Wedding Inspiration

Posted on July 9th, 2012 by annalemberger

Vintage-inspired lace details are making a statement on bridal runways this year. Lace evokes a sense of timeless elegance and delegate beauty that is appropriate for any bride and wedding theme, from elegant to rustic. Pair lace details with other white fabrics and elements, like satin and ostrich feathers. Emphasizing texture and pattern over color creates a truly unique look that shows off the beauty of subtle and intricate details.

Katy Perry & Russell Brand, Brangelina… and You? The Hot New Multicultural Wedding Trend

Rocker Katy Perry and comedian Russell Brand married October 23 at the Oberoi Vanyavilas Hotel in Ranthambore, India. And now, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are rumored to be planning a similar wedding this Valentine’s Day. With the celebs lighting a fire under this latest wedding trend, can we expect to see an excess of India themed weddings this year?

While I’ve always had a hankering for India myself, I don’t know that the average American will be rushing to jump on this trend. For most, the wedding ceremony is a very personal event, full of tradition. So, while I don’t believe most of us will be attending India themed weddings in 2011, I do foresee a growing trend toward multicultural weddings celebrating the plethora of cultures that make up the American people.

Check it Out

-A picture of Katy Perry and Russell Brand accompanies an official report of their wedding day at CNN Entertainment’s Marquee Blog.

-Unfortunately, I was unable to find even a single picture of the couple in their wedding finery (a couple of sites claim to have images, but none of them match, so I don’t believe them,) but I did find tons of pics of Russell Brand and his bodyguards by the L.A. Times. While Times photographers were unable to capture the happy couple, they did manage to snap a pic of an elephant, the likes of which Brand was rumored to have arrived to the ceremony on. The Rambagh Palace, which is also pictured, was rumored as a possible location for the couple’s top secret wedding. While they didn’t marry there, it would have been a beautiful location!

-Saman, from Studio Sila blogs on how to get that exotic Indian look on the Maharani Weddings blog. You HAVE to click through to both of these sites to see the images they have posted. The glittering jewels and sultry makeup are so much prettier than the plain white dress and pearls I wore when I got married. I only wish I could pull off this fantastic look with my pasty skin!
